Alex Logan grew up in North Georgia where he spent much of his time scribbling away at his desk with a handful of markers either blazing through coloring books or creating images inspired by games, mythology, fantasy books, and surreal imagery. He is currently working toward a BA in Visual Studies at Temple University in Philadelphia, creating art in much the same way. Post-graduation he plans to apply his education to a career in illustration.
His work is often inspired by how colors play off one another, and typically use a combination of ink pens and markers to make bold patterns of color and carefully considered compositions. His subject matter varies from surreal, vibrantly colored landscapes to abstract illustration, often including bold lines or other elements of geometric design. At an early age he became fascinated by the geometric designs and patterns typically found in Native American or Celtic art, and use these as inspiration toward developing his own style.
